Mark V. Queralt, MD

Dr. Queralt has been with the Spine and Rehabilitation Center in Austin, Texas since 1996. Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty in Pain Management, Dr. Queralt has particular expertise in the diagnosis and non-surgical care of spinal disorders and other pain syndromes.  He educates patients with spinal disorders and injuries about activities and exercises to help alleviate pain and discomfort. As indicated, Dr. Queralt directs rehabilitation programs and utilizes procedures including lumbar epidurals, selective nerve root blocks, facet joint and sacroiliac joint injections. Electrodiagnostic testing may be performed in evaluation of patients' numbness or weakness.  “Physical medicine offers patients with spinal disorders an alternative to surgery,” says Dr. Queralt.  "As a physiatrist, I approach the patient in a holistic manner, with the goal of decreasing pain and improving function. Electrodiagnostic testing may determine whether the pain is being caused by a disorder of the muscle versus nerve; and lead to a more specific and appropriate plan to address the problem."

Dr. Queralt and his wife, Alison, have two children.  Dr. Queralt enjoys basketball, skiing, and other outdoor activities, as well as spending time with his family.
